A Good Night's Sleep

When is the last time you purchased a new bed? For us, it was 13 years ago when we first got married. Truth be told, it was before we got married. Lou picked one out and bought it, and I made him promise not to sleep on it until we were married and I was living in MD with him! He tells me he never did ... and I believe him! Well, it's one of those purchases you HATE to make but have to. Our old one was squeaky and creaky and generally getting into bad shape. So we researched and bought one at Sleepy's (which was actually a good experience!) After giving us a computerized test and virtual "body scan," they led us to the $4000 mattress that suited us perfectly. Lou quickly informed them that we would need something in a much different (and lesser) price range, and away we went mattress shopping. The funniest part is that they make you lay on all these mattresses ... you feel quite foolish, but that is the only way to pick one that works for you. We decided on a firm model with a quilted pillow top made into the top layer of mattress, and I must say, it is amazingly soft and comfy! It has individually wrapped coils too, which means that when Lou moves, I shouldn't feel it. Amazing, if you ask me. They kept talking about mattress technology at the store, and now I am sold and believe that yes indeed there is a technological component to new mattresses. It is also a good 8 inches higher than our old one ... which is sitting in the garage. If anyone knows of anyone who might need a used king set, let me know ! The garbage men are coming for it Monday unless I hear otherwise! For the last two nights, we have put our kids to sleep, cleaned up downstairs, and just hung out on our new bed!!!

So, what exactly do you mean by "hung out"???? :-)

New mattresses are the best! I just want to know how you decided on Sleepy's? There are mattress stores on every corner around here, it seems!

You KNOW ... Hung out!!! :)
We tried them first because they are right by our house, and we thought they were "expensive" (due to the computer thing and the first set of beds they tried to seel us ... $2000-$4000) BUT then we went to Sears (which was having a huge sale) and Magic Mattress (which has a ton of mattresses) and after all that ... Sleepy's had great salespeople who knew what they were talking about, lots to choose from, and the best prices. (How is that for a run-on sentence??) All in all, if you hvae to drop all that money, a good experience at Sleepys!

You are so cute...I love the part about Lou not sleeping on your first mattress until you were married! That's what I call love!

Thanks for the link info....I got it figured out and can I just say it is dangerous....I found myself going from one persons links to anothers....the next thing you know I'm sitting there reading about some total strangers Christmas with their MeMaw and PePaw....like I have time for that! :)

My new layout is one of the blogspot layouts. Click customize-layout-pick a new template and then you can mess around with them. Mine is Son of Moto. I scanned the pix in and added it as a page element.

I also found a REALLY cool website with 1000's of free blog layouts. I looked at a bunch, but it was a little overwhelming for me....couldn't make a decision.
